Guardian Sports and the NFL Alumni Association Announce Strategic Partnership to Enhance Player Safety and Awareness

ATLANTA, GA – Guardian Sports, the inventors of the Guardian Cap – the soft-shelled football helmet cover seen on all NFL players, is proud to announce a strategic partnership with the NFL Alumni Association (NFL Alumni). Leveraging the NFL Alumni’s vast network of former players, the emphasis is on the youth football community, using this collaboration to promote player safety across all levels of the game, educating and advocating for better protection in football.

“At the NFL Alumni Association, our mission is rooted in caring for kids, our community, and our own,” said CEO Brad Edwards, “Player safety has always been a top priority and partnering with Guardian Sports allows us to advocate for innovative equipment that better protects young athletes, supports player well-being, and strengthens the communities we serve. By leveraging the experience and influence of our former players, we can drive awareness and adoption of safer gear like Guardian Caps, ensuring improvements in technology that will further increase safety for the next generation of football players.”

Guardian Sports will work closely with the NFL Alumni Association to expand awareness of Guardian Caps as part of their mission to innovate equipment and better serve athletes. Several NFL alumni players and teams have played a key role in providing Guardian Caps to youth athletes in their communities.

“We are excited to join forces with the NFLA,” said Guardian Sports COO Jake Hanson. “This collaboration represents a shared commitment of enhancing player safety from the youth level all the way to the professional level by working with an esteemed group who has given the most to the game.”

About Guardian Sports

With 25+ years of experience in material sciences, Erin and Lee Hanson started Guardian in 2011 with one goal in mind – innovating equipment to better serve athletes.  The purpose of the Guardian Cap is to reduce the impact and redirect rotational forces upon collisions experienced by players, and to prove that soft-shell helmet technology is superior to that of a hard shell.  Now more than 500,000 youth, high school, and college athletes nationwide have adopted Guardian Caps into their practices and/or games and the NFL and CFL have mandated Caps in practices with exceptional results. Guardian continues to innovate and aims to continually develop technologies that can enhance sports equipment and better serve athletes.
