High School Football Matchups of the Week

Welcome to another week of high school football matchups!

Halloween has passed, Thanksgiving is approaching, and households across the country are debating the proper timeline for displaying Christmas decorations (pre or post-Thanksgiving?). There are a lot of great holidays around this time of year, including The Masters, but nothing compares to Friday night playoffs under the lights.

If your team is playing a hallowed playoff matchup this week, best of luck and cherish these moments with your players. If your season has been sidelined, check out some games we will be watching this week!

Thompson High School (AL) #1 in State vs. Hewitt-Trussville High School (AL) #3 in State

The Thompson Warriors will come into Friday night’s game as the number one team in the state of Alabama. The Warriors have had an outstanding season, led by Head Coach Mark Freeman, and are competing for a consecutive state championship. Sam Reynolds (WR, South Carolina Commit), Tre Roberson (WR, Army Commit), and Gavin Shipman (CB, Harvard Commit) are notable players to keep on your radar.

Hewitt-Trussville is the third ranked team in the state of Alabama. The Huskies will get their chance at revenge against Thompson, after losing a close game in September (35-21). Keep your eyes on Armoni Goodwin (RB,  Auburn Commit), Trey Washington (CB, Ole Miss Commit), and Sean Jackson (RB, Undecided). Get your popcorn ready, it will be a great game!

Rockford High School (MI) #1 in State vs. Grandville High School (MI) #8 in State

The Rockford Rams will line up for the second time this year against the Grandville Bulldogs. The two teams squared off in late October, resulting in a 28-8 Rockford win. With the season on the line, this is sure to be a competitive matchup.

The Grandville Bulldogs have had a great season, led by Coach Stiegel, and are one of the top teams in the state. The winner of this game will take on either Saline High School or Holt High School in the next round of the playoffs.

Liberty High School (MO) #6 in State vs. Liberty North High School #7 in State (MO)

The Battle of the Liberty School District will go down this Friday at 7pm. Liberty High School will come into this game as the #6 team in the state of Missouri. The Blue Jays knocked off Liberty North earlier in the year, but the game was decided by less than two touchdowns.

Liberty North had a slow start to the season but is on an eight-game win streak. The Eagles have been putting up a lot of points on offense over the past few weeks and had a convincing win over Rock Bridge last Friday (44-0). This is going to be some of the best football in Missouri on Friday night, so be sure to check it out!

Best of luck to all the teams playing this weekend! We hope you have another great night under the lights!
