Operations Intern: Summer 2027
Location: Peachtree Corners, Georgia
Brand: Guardian Sports
Department: Operations
Dates: May 19, 2027 – August 6, 2027
Who we are.
Guardian Sports is a family-owned sports safety equipment company that has rapidly scaled through intentional partnerships with the most elite leagues in sports. Our products, including Guardian Cap, PEARL lacrosse balls, LOOP headgear, Guardian chinstraps, and bio-based turf Infill, are trusted by professional and collegiate teams across the NFL, NCAA, CFL, and Premier Lacrosse League.
We protect over 750,000 athletes annually by combining 20+ years of material science expertise with a relentless commitment to innovation. As a rapidly scaling organization, we maintain the agility of a family business while competing at the highest levels of professional sports.
We're looking for an Operations Intern who wants to contribute to our mission of making sports safer while learning from world-class operators in the sporting goods industry. You'll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts athlete safety on the field.
What you'll do.
As part of the Operations team, you'll get a full view of how a growing sporting goods company runs, from the moment an order is placed to the moment it reaches the field. This isn't a single-track role. You'll rotate across supply chain, order processing, customer service, e-commerce, and analytics, and support the team wherever the business needs it most. Along the way, you'll own a summer project from start to finish and present your results to leadership.
At Guardian Sports, you will join our mission to improve athlete performance and safety through equipment innovation.
Potential Areas of Responsibility:
- Supply chain: Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with suppliers on purchase orders, and support demand planning across our product lines.
- Order processing: Process and track orders across our direct, B2B, and retail channels to make sure they ship accurately and on time.
- Customer service: Respond to customer emails and calls about order status, returns, and exchanges, and route team and bulk orders to the right sales rep.
- Shopify audits and reporting: Audit product listings, pricing, and site content for accuracy, and build recurring reports on e-commerce performance.
- Ops KPI tracking: Help maintain our operations scorecard, covering fulfillment, shipping cost, inventory health, and customer feedback, and turn the data into trends and recommendations.
- Process improvement: Help develop and document best practices and standard operating procedures, and find ways to save time and money across operations, from office workflows to packing speed and accuracy in the warehouse.
- Warehouse and fulfillment: Lend a hand to the warehouse team on high-volume days by picking, packing, and shipping orders. Expect a few hands-on days on the warehouse floor over the course of the summer.
- Cross-functional projects: Take part in projects with the sales, finance, and fulfillment teams that improve how Guardian operates.
Who you are:
- Enrolled in a program focused on supply chain management, operations management, business, analytics, or industrial engineering
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable switching between tasks and priorities throughout the day
- Team player who thinks about the bigger picture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable with customers and teammates alike
- Proactive problem solver with a positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
