Jalen Pitre Donated Guardian Caps to Stafford High School Football
Houston Texans safety and Guardian Sports’ first-ever NFL Guardian Signature Athlete, Jalen Pitre, is giving back to the program that built him. On September 2, 2026, Pitre donated Guardian Caps to his alma mater, Stafford High School in Stafford, TX, bringing the same head protection technology he wears on Sundays to the student-athletes suiting up in his old locker room.
What this Donation Means to Jalen
When asked why he was passionate about providing Caps to his community, Pitre shared: “[To expose] the kids from my area to different levels of protection, help them and their parents understand there is a safer way to do this, and so their parents can be secure in the stands watching their kids play. That’s the biggest thing that I think about when giving back to my community and making sure they do have Guardian Caps.”
When asked what message he hopes to send to younger kids nationwide, Pitre has a clear answer. “I hope my choice just inspires them to just think about [Caps] and think about their safety,” he said. “Why not get a step ahead today on your safety and on your future. I hope they’re encouraged by that, [because] why not add as much protection as you can?”
Why Guardian Caps Matter for High School Football
The Guardian Cap is the leading soft-shell football helmet cover engineered to help reduce the impact of repetitive head contact during practice. Designed to fit over existing football helmets, it adds a protective outer layer that helps absorb and disperse head impact forces while maintaining comfort and mobility.
Guardian Caps are already trusted at every level of football, from youth leagues to the NFL, with more than half a million athletes wearing them today, and adoption continues to grow. The NFL itself requires all players except quarterbacks, kickers, and punters to wear a Guardian Cap NXT or NXT 2.0 during contact practices, recognizing soft-shell technology as an important piece of the safety puzzle.
A Win For The Next Generation
“Jalen’s commitment to athlete safety reflects the values at the core of our mission,” said Erin Hanson, CEO and Co-Founder of Guardian Sports. “Young athletes look up to the players they see on Sundays, and Jalen is helping lead the next generation toward a safer future for football. By embracing protection at the highest level of the game, he’s helping normalize athlete safety for kids, parents, and coaches everywhere.”
Part of Guardian Sports’ Bigger Mission
We developed Guardian Caps to better protect football players at every level of the game, and partnerships like this one with Jalen Pitre are central to that mission. Putting proven protective technology directly into the hands of the athletes and programs that need it most. As Guardian Sports’ first NFL Signature Athlete, Pitre isn’t just wearing the brand, he’s actively extending it into the community that shaped him.
We are proud to stand with Jalen Pitre and the Stafford High School football program as they gear up for the season ahead.
