A Track Record of Choosing Safety First
Doubs isn’t new to the Guardian Cap. While playing for the Green Bay Packers in 2024, he made the personal decision to wear one during games, a move that drew national attention, since the Guardian Cap wasn’t required for his position or team. That choice put a spotlight on a growing conversation in football: what happens when players themselves decide safety is worth prioritizing, not just when the rules require it.
“I’m excited to join the team and put safety at the forefront,” Doubs said. “I’m protecting myself and ensuring that I can perform at a high level, and I would love to see the next generation follow the same path.”
Why It Matters: On and Off the Field
As a Guardian Signature Athlete, Doubs will continue advocating for athlete safety at every level of football, encouraging younger players to take ownership of protecting themselves the way he has.
Romeo Doubs’ support means so much to us because he didn’t wait for someone to tell him to wear a Guardian Cap, he made that decision for himself. When an athlete competing at Romeo’s level chooses additional protection and wears it proudly on one of the biggest stages in sports, people notice. Young athletes notice. Romeo has helped show that prioritizing safety and competing at the highest level can go hand in hand, and we’re incredibly proud to have him as a Guardian Signature Athlete.
About the Guardian Cap

Proven at every level:
Since their introduction in 2010, Guardian Caps have been adopted across football at every level, from youth leagues to the NFL, as part of broader efforts to reduce repetitive impacts and support player safety.
A growing roster of advocates:
Doubs joins Jalen Pitre, the Houston Texans safety and fellow Guardian Signature Athlete, as the latest professional voice putting his name behind the cap.
