The NFL Mandates the Use of Guardian Caps
NFL owners announced that the League would mandate Guardian Caps during the early part of training camp for all OL, DL, TEs, and LBs.
After lab testing showed a “statistically significant” improvement over bare helmets alone, the NFL permitted Guardian Caps in the 2021 season. Now, after a year of data collection from teams using Guardian Caps, the NFL has mandated their use. Players will wear Guardian Caps for every preseason practice between the start of the training camp contact period and the second preseason game.
Guardian Caps are used by UGA, Alabama, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Stanford, Penn St, 200+ other colleges, 2,000+ high schools, and the NFL.
